Failed running il2cpp.exe when generating WebGL build - How to debug?

    Hello, when I try to export the WebGL build of a practice project, there is nothing being exported to the target folder while I see four error messages in Unity. Editor error log file is in attachment.
    Sorry for not excerpting out the error messages other than the one in the title.... Unity forum keeps on insisting that I'm posting spam.

    I'm feeling quite lost with all these long error messages.... Not sure what are the key error terms that I should search for. I'm also not sure what's causing the il2cpp.exe to not run properly.
    Can someone please share with me some hints on how to debug these four errors or where the faults are at?

    ......Oh wow, interesting that when I tried someone's tip of placing the project folder directly under C:\ and also output the build to that C:\ rooted folder, everything went smooth like butter with zero sign of error. The project folder and output path were previously somewhere in the My Documents folder under D:\.

    How to detect this kind of thing as a beginner? And also, why is it not working if things are under D:\ .....

    Yes, these errors are difficult to understand. It looks like they could be caused by a path too long. Windows has a maximum path length of 256 characters. I suspect that some of the files with the Unity WebGL build is operating on have a path longer than that, so weird errors will occur.

    Thanks @JoshPeterson . It's possible that the path is too long - Originally the unity folder is indeed buried quite deep in my driver behind multiple folders. Very cool that you were able to come to that. Did you have that idea because of the lengths of the errors? I find it very impressive that you came to that suspicion and would like to hear how you did that.

    When I try to build my project WebGl with Unity 2019.4.0f or 2019.1.0f I have the same issue as you ( same 3 errors) :

    I have the same issue with a new simple project when I try to build WebGL with Unity 2019.

    Can you provide more details about the error message? There is likely another error after this one in the log.

    im having the exact same problem but i don't know what to do.
    do i have to install the editor on disc c or the project file?

    No, neither should be required. Can you provide details about the error message you see?
