External hardware connection using TCP

    Has anyone here attempted to develop custom hardware for Daydream by streaming TCP data over their local network? Would it be as simple as using the sockets package in C# to connect to the IP, or would I need to do something differently since I'm building for Android? I've already made a system for streaming TCP data on my PC in Unity, so if it worked automatically in Android as well that would be great. I'd just like to know before I buy the necessary components.
