I've gotten this error in a new, fresh project in Unity 2020.3.5f1. The entire error is as follows:
Library\PackageCache\com.unity.collab-proxy@1.3.9\Editor\UserInterface\CollaborateWindow.cs(9,38): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Providers' does not exist in the namespace 'Unity.Cloud.Collaborate.Models' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

I've tried deleting the Library folder. All of my packages are up to date. I've tried resetting the packages to default under the help menu. Re-importing the project doesn't do anything.

I set up a help ticket with Unity Collaborate Support. Still waiting on that.
I've been searching the internet for hours for a solution with no luck.
I need help please. Every time I open the project it prompts me to open it is safe mode.

Are you using Collaborate? If not, remove the package.

Hey, that worked! I would kiss you if I could.
I might want to use collaborate in the future. So, I'm still curious what the solution is. But this definitely helps me a lot for now.
I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't think to just remove it, but thanks again!

    Best. Response. Ever.

No problem... Unity has an annoying habit the past X years of barfing tons of packages into blank projects and they invariably have errors and cause people to show up here asking what to do. For whatever reason, Unity continues to think it is a good approach to cause mysterious errors to first-time users. It's been going on ever since the Package Manager really started to gain steam. There's probably other cruft in there you could remove too.

This is still an issue in 2022 (completely new project), and the above kissable solution still solves it! Thank you :)
