Exception: Il2cpp.exe Did Not Run Properly!

    have a problem in 2019.2.8f1 have arm7 and x64 selected android ndk 16b, and split application binary to create obb files for googkleplay, seems build is fine in debug build but will get il2cpp did not run properly errors in master build

    Hi! this error create due to fb sdk on 64 bit for play store. i resolve this error downgrade fb sdk version. like used fb sdk 7.16 so i downgrade to 7.15. its work for me

    I just switched my Android Build Settings to IL2CPP and enabled the ARMV64 architecture and I am also having those error under using Unity 2020.1.0a17.

    GooglePlay requires it and an error message while reviewing the APK if the armv64 architecture isn't active.

    This failure occurs because the code in the project has extern methods in C#. Methods marked as extern with a the [Dllimport("__Internal")] attribute must be present in a native library that is linked with the Unity player when building with the IL2CPP scripting backend.

    For example, this in this project one function which causes this issue is named: StartLevelEvent

    You have two options:

    1. Build a native library with all of the methods marked as extern with the [Dllimport("__Internal")] attribute for the target platform and architecture of the player. See this documentation for details about native plugins: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/NativePlugins.html

    2. Remove the C# code which defines this extern method. You can do that with platform dependent compilation: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/PlatformDependentCompilation.html

    It looks like this error happens when the IL2CPP build system is attempting to copy a file from the build cache. Can you check if that file mentioned in the error message in the first screen shot exists? If might also want to delete that il2cpp_cache directory and try to build again. It should be rebuilt the next time.

    Well every files and directory were there...
    I deleted the Library folder to let Unity to generate news files.
    But same error at all :(.

    @JoshPeterson Same error from the empty project.
    Sent a Bug Report :

    - Ticket : 2020.1.0a17 Android platform cannot build with IL2CPP ARMV7

    There should be another error message after that occurs with more details. Can you provide that?

    Yeah actually I mistyping the title... Should be IL2CPP + ARM64 (instead of ARMV7) :eek:

    oh found some black magic interfering with the force :
    - A IL2CPP build run properly with ARM64 if ARMV7 is disabled.
    - If I activate the ARMV7 back, it will crash the usual error mentioned
    :)

    The IL2CPP + ARM64 build (without ARMV7) pass the GooglePlay review.

    Now still a warning concerning the Unoptimized APK but that is another topic I believe. :)

    It looks like IL2CPP is trying to run the clang++ compiler from the NDK. It think the clang++ compiler is installed at:

    /Applications/Unity/PlaybackEngines/AndroidPlayer/NDK/android-ndk-r13b/toolchains/llvm/prebuilt/darwin-x86_64/bin/clang++

    But it seems that files does not exist. Can you check to see if clang++ exists there? This maybe related to an NDK installation issue. You might want to try to reinstall the Android NDK as well.

    So there is no solution for errors about il2cpp, its absurd i cant compile even only with arm64.Unable to find java in the system path. this tools is required to process android libraries. Please configure your jdk location under preferences...but java location is configured by unity installation from zero! so what i can do?

    This failure occurs because the code in the project has extern methods in C#. Methods marked as extern with a the [Dllimport("__Internal")] attribute must be present in a native library that is linked with the Unity player when building with the IL2CPP scripting backend.

    For example, this in this project one function which causes this issue is named: EnumerateVideoFormats

    You have two options:

    1. Build a native library with all of the methods marked as extern with the [Dllimport("__Internal")] attribute for the target platform and architecture of the player. See this documentation for details about native plugins: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/NativePlugins.html

    2. Remove the C# code which defines this extern method. You can do that with platform dependent compilation: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/PlatformDependentCompilation.html

    But the same happen with google arcore sdk samplke that are specifically for android so what is the problem in this case? i must use directive that google not use? why this?? my project is for android sothe sdk must be work wihtout rovlem if i compile specifici for android, and instead not!

    Maybe the Google code needs to be updated here to work with Android/IL2CPP. I'm not familiar enough with that code to say, unfortunately.

    So you think (but it is not a problem) that google can force develoepr to produce only 64bit application and destroy their sdk with not update for il2cpp? Or..i can try to download sk from google and after try to compile it..i go to this option..

    Sorry, I don't really know what Google is up to here or how this works. I have seen others with this issue on the forums, and I think they have resolved it. So maybe updating the Google SDK here is the way to go.

    yes friend i confirm google sdk inside arcore package that i want use is not updated because i download from their repository and compile two example and they work. now i will try to modify the arcore package that is free on asset store. i think that it will work..

    Unfortunately, it looks like clang++ is not printing an error message, or Unity is not recording it. I'd recommend that you make this happen, then leave the editor open and run the clang++ command in a command window. Here is the command (based on the error message):

    i had same il2cpp problem,my drivers and everything in programm was fine but i cant export apk ,i just delete some unused scripts and assets from my project and now it work fine !!

    Il2cpp didn't run properly.
    i solved this error my handling the Multipeer Scripts.
    #if UNITY_IOS on all the scripts solved the problem.
    i didn't try making IOS build that what will be the circumstances but it worked for Android
    Unity 2019.2.2

    I am trying to build webgl application, but after many trial i am getting same error, That il2cpp failed to running;
    1 .I have tried to with a new blank project still i am getting same error,
    2. I have tried with clearing il2cpp Cache folder and restart the system still same error.

    Please help me with this.

    Check for a virus scanner. Sometimes they can interfere with files in the temp directory, which looks like what is happening here.

    No problem! I'm not sure what exactly this error means, but I suspect it is related to some privilege issue on the OS. Please make sure that Unity is installed as a non-administrator account, and that you are running it from the same account where it was installed.

    I have the same problem. I upgraded to Unity 2020 so that I could port to MAC ( successful). But now when I try to port to IOS or Android with IL2CPP ( essential) I have these errors:

    Thanks! This looks like IL2CPP is not handling the UnityAPICompatibilityVersion attribute properly. Can you let me know the C# code for that attribute, and the C# code where it is used?

    Hi Josh,
    I have to admit I am unsure how to ascertain that... When I do a Search In Solution in Visual Studio ( for UnityAPICompatibilityVersion ), nothing comes up. 0 matches. And when I double click on the error in the console, VisualStudio seems to load something, but it appears blank.

    In addition to the previous warnings , there is also this:

    which I thought may be related to redundant flare layers, but I have removed all flare layers and am stilll getting the warning

    Hello, we have the same issue with il2cpp on version 2019.3.0f6 while running the build on CI. We tried installing NDK, SDK and OPENJDK, but the build just gets stuck on the error below.

    This is not an issue I've seen before. To be clear, here you are building an Android player with IL2CPP from a Linux Unity editor?

    Can you submit a bug report for this issue? This is something that should work, and we should investigate it.

    We are building the necessary libraries using unity and exporting to a folder. Then we are using Unity + React Native to build the android app. Reference: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@asmadsen/react-native-unity-view#add-unity-build-scripts
    We are building on CircleCI cloud over command line tools, on ubuntu platform with unity. We also tried to reinstall SDK, NDK and OpenJDK, but the build is stuck on il2cpp error.

    Perhaps interestingly , I just updated to 2020.2.0a9, and am now getting all the original errors plus a new one:
    IL2CPP error for method 'System.Void System.Runtime.CompilerServices.RuntimeCompatibilityAttribute::set_WrapNonExceptionThrows(System.Boolean)' in assembly '/Users/xxxxxxxx/Documents/XXXXXXXXXXX/Temp/StagingArea/assets/bin/Data/Managed/mscorlib.dll'

    I got this same erorr. il2cpp did not run properly............ what is current solutions?

    2019.3.14f1 newest version using.

    Can you provide more details about the error message? This general error message could indicate a number of different problems.
