Official Example Projects

Hello everyone!


We have built and released 2 Example Projects that demonstrate the various features of the new Prefab Workflows, as highlighted on unity3d.com/prefabs

The first project is the same one shown on-stage in the Unite Berlin 2018 keynote:

This project is built entirely using assets from the 3D Game Kit.

The second project uses various robot prefabs to show Nesting and Prefab Variants:

Both projects are only compatible with the Prefab Preview Build. As new builds become available, the projects will be updated with them; so be sure to subscribe to the repositories!

We welcome your feedback on these example projects; we already have plans for more in the future and will add them to this forum thread (and GitHub) as they are built & released.

Will this new workflow be available in 2018.3 beta when 2018.2 comes out?

 

The prefab beta naming is either deliberately ambiguous or accidentally and needlessly so:
Unity 2018.2.0x-ImprovedPrefabs Beta


Could you please be explicit, which build is this based on?

Is it this one, or another:
Unity 2018.2.0b9

This build 2018.2.0b9 has been significantly more stable for me than anything else. I was hoping this was the case.

Please, in future, considering how unstable some of the other builds are, when you update, can you make it clear which version you're basing on?

Feeble as this might sound, then I can budget time to explore, if it's a solid one, like this one is, for me.

 

Hello folks! I've recently ported both the Spider Robots and Unite Berlin 3D Game Kit projects from the Prefab Preview build to 2018.3.0b1. Just pull the latest changes from the GitHub repositories.
