I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite so I could use the new XCode 6 Beta to build to my iOS8 device. This requires me to download the latest Unity to avoid build errors at XCode.

However, when I press Archive and then goes to press the "Estimate App Size" button, normally it would take a while to compute and shows something 50MB-ish but now it's skyrocketed to 120 MB.

The "Complete Size" in Editor.log is the same as before, 90 MB. I wondered why estimated app size changed?

Edit : Even the new XCode 6 (Not beta) have increased app size as well.

For us the same, our app has increased from 90MB to 240MB.
Did you get something about this?

I see an increase from 60mb to 97mb. I think it's related with compression as the installed size seems to be same.

I have some progress to report.

When the app is finally "Ready for sale", the actual size that user will download reduced down to what it should be. Could this be some Unity bug causing XCode to estimate app's size wrong?

Just noticed the same issue. If I use the estimate button on older archives, then sometimes also very large file sizes occur (but they were released with much less MB then stated by XCode).

I think this is an XCode related issue.

I'm also getting this issue (using v4.5.4f1) Testflight is reporting an ipa size of 45MB and the estimated app size is 156 MB. Using Xcode version 6.0.1
