Why do you want to write a ERP on Unity? Its seems strange.
So, You can use Unity GUI to Develop something and it might be possible. But Unity is specifically used for making games. It will be a lot easier if you use HTML ,JAVA or Android SDK to Develop Something like it and depoly it on Heroku or Aerobatic App Cloud Services.

I am still thinking from where do you get these Crazy Ideas....:p
I wont suggest creating something like it using Unity. I am too a Professional CRM Developer but never thought of using Unity to develop it.
If you want to create a web version and use some tools then use Salesforce to develop your App. ERP is a totally different Domain for something to be posted here.

Was just an idea because if you have the ground scripts like validate date with other date you must only drag and drop scritps fill in parameters and done :p

And the other reason, im a trainee in a company where we program in consoles ilerpg and i F***ing hate it. And then migrate it in java... and the client is F***ing slow and my thougt was hey... i can a littlebit unity so give it a try :D

    Thsnks for the reply :)!

Yeah....It can work in some way. But I don't think Unity will be Scalable. Each view in ERP Software will be a level in unity. But a whole different Idea. If you want to try then you can go ahead. Innovative Solutions are born with Crazy Ideas.

No only one sceene and rest working with prefabs! My only problem is at the moment the thing with mysql and webplayer would be a solution php+mysql and what is with traffic?
Or use the photon server which has accsess to the local database and then transmit datas to client :D

I work on an ERP as my day job. Can it be done? Sure. But you wouldn't want to. Effort, ROI, and scalability would suck. Develop for the web and use whatever MV* framework works for you. We're using KendoUI and liking it. I agree that JAVA is crap. I've been doing this for 10 years. Trust me. Web is the way of the future.

Typically "Enterprise Resource Planning" or "Enterprise Resource Platform". For example: Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle E-Business, TMW TruckMate, IBM OpenPro

Yeah, while it might be a "neat" thing to do building it in Unity, it's not practical, especially if you really want a web application. You're likely going to want at least some form of responsive design and certainly scalability and performance.

At my day job I'm currently building a complete end to end system for a title insurance company. It's not just resources.. we're building their entire system from order entry clear through fulfillment and integration with their accounting system. Security is handled through Active Directory and it's an internal only application. The whole title insurance process is like an assembly line except that documents / orders can jump lines, go backwards, etc. depending on what's found in the process.

I can't imagine what it would be like to build out this software in Unity... because we need scalability, customizability, and it's be used by hundreds of employees and will service thousands or tens of thousands of orders per day.

In case you're looking for suggestions, here is the technology stack we're using:

    SQL Server 2014
ASP .NET MVC5 (WebAPI 2) to as a backend service
AngularJS for the Frontend - it's a giant SPA
----UI-Router for state management and routing
    ----Angular Cache Factory for caching
    ----Twitter Bootstrap for responsive UI
----Angular Toaster (toastr for angular) for notifications

NServiceBus as a service bus / event transport
Rolling our own rules engine and workflow service
    Separate Production / Reporting Databases
EDW for data warehousing and BIM

Probably plenty more... but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. :)

The perks of being a consultant with a large solution focused consulting firm... we get to drive the technology stack to make sure it's the most appropriate for the solution.
