Endless Car Chase Game Template

    Change their Color Gradient so that they fade out near the end like in a particle effect.

    yea sounds good,,,
    I might have to hire you to make me some powerUp scripts, im a little lost and confused on powerUps....
    Is that something you do?

    On my own I just make stuff for the asset store (I have a gaming studio with a couple of other devs though, and I also teach a unity course, but no freelance).

    Anyway, you have a nice script called ECCItem that can run different kinds of functions from other objects in the scene. So for example you have a Mushroom item, and it runs a function called GiantMushroom from the GameController script

    Now the hard part is creating the function that makes you a giant :D

    My suggestion is something like this inside the ECCGameController script:

    I didn't test so use at your own risk :D

    But if anyone here has an interesting function please share and suggest!

    Hi there.. Just got your template and excited to create some fun projects. I had two questions. 1. Is it possible to have unique animations for turning in the PlayerCar animator? Right now there is one animation that plays for Skid. Also is it possible for when cars/chasers collide for the to code to activate rag doll physics ? Thanks -Ron

    I'm trying to set up Rewired with the project but I'm not sure how to bridge them together. Any help?

    I'm also having issue trying to change the player model that is spawned at the beginning of the game. I have changed the prefab that is suppose to be spawned but the default car is still getting spawned.

    EDIT: Didn't realize that you have to change the player car prefabs in the CanvasShop

    Hi, yes I'm active but apparently missed so many messages from this thread. Usually I respond through mails and the fb page, but I'm here too.

    I'll look at the previous questions and reply if they are still relevant, but in the meantime is there something new you want to ask?

    @puppeteer I want your help in the police car jerky movement solution.
    If you check this video then you can see those police cars have some vibration in a movement when they are close at the camera.

    @Laur3nt1u, this looks really sweet. My only comment is that you need to hunt a bit too much for the next glowing chimney opportunity. If a kid has to wander around without any hint as to the best direction for very long, it could become a bit frustrating for them. I suggest you either have some sort of effect indicating the direction of the next chimney, or you have a lot more chimneys to target deliveries.

    There is a red arrow around the sleigh, we didn't want to make it too distracting but we might change it to a dotted line

    Ah, I didn't see it, it's tiny. I suppose once you notice that it's there, the hunt is a lot easier to follow.

    The enemy cars have some attributes for chasing the player. Maybe the angle values need to be tweaked a little bit to prevent the jerky movement near the player car.

    The default controls in the editor use keyboard/gamepad controls, but if you build to a mobile device, it will use tap controls. And if you activate the CanvasSteeringWheel object in the scene and build to mobile, it will use the steering wheel to play the game on the device.

    Just a quick question, where do I set the height of the camera? I tried moving the main camera itself, but the height was still the same when I played the scene. I've had to increase the size of the cars in order to match my scenery, hence the need to raise the camera. FYI, I simply scaled the original car prefabs, this eliminates the need to play with the carspawn animation; I did to all your models, and it works great. Also, where do I set the player spawn position? Thanks.

    To reorient the camera take a look at the Camera object inside CameraOrbit. Camera Orbit will always be at the same position as the player and even rotate with it based on the gamecontroller setting you have, while CameraShake only animates the shaking effect when hitting objects.

    Good call on the car spawn scales.

    For spawn point of the player there's none unfortunately, it just spawns the car at its default position.

    Is there any way to make gamecity scene procedurely spawn instead of having city limits? Kind of how the game PAKO Forever has it.

    I'm not sure if this would be the best way, but I think one way to do it is to make a set of city sections as single objects, and add them to a grid. When the player moves far enough west in the world, you would move the section that is fartherst from the player east and put it right at the end of the west section. You could potentially repeat this world forever.

    look inside ECCCar near the end at line 500 where it has the LookAt code, and add this:

    So I fixed that weird sideways leaning movement as the car model I was using had a 90 degree rotation set on chasis which was messing up with your Rotate function's calculation (added my own if/else to check if model chasis has 90 degree rotation set, if so Rotate it on X axis instead of the Z axis, otherwise just Rotate on Z axis like your code).

    However, I have run into a new problem where some random PickupTruckCop vehicle would just go weird and start leaning and rotating sideways only (like keeps circling sideways and nothing else) and another random pickup truck also turned white all of a sudden.
    I am using PurePool to replace instantiate/destroy if that matters.

    Also, as someone else mentioned, the issue of jittery police cars still there. Tried playing with chase angle and variation settings but didnt help out much

    Please consider updating the endless car chase as well, specially adding some pooling/optimization and most importantly improving the car controller, current one makes it impossible to do or add any kind of multiplayer functionality (tried photon and mirror for a month but the cars were never in sync even on localhost because of how their movement works and is calculated)

    Yes, I should do a performance pass update at least. Not sure about multiplayer integration though and the core controls, but maybe I can find a better way to make the other cars chase.

    The saves are made locally for each device that you use, so each player will start with clean save and add to it as they play and unlock new cars and accumulate money.

    If you want to reset the save inside the Unity editor for testing purposes, you can click on Clear PlayerPrefs here:

    Hi, the latest version in the store has an error. It says missing Prefabs when I load the city scene. I tried to investigate and it is missing the trees Prefab in the project folder.
