I upgraded my project from 2021 LTS to 2022 LTS hoping to get Decal Layers in URP.
Now enabling the feature breaks the camera. I made the most basic scene to illustrate the problem:

Image 1: Decal Layers disabled. Stuff visible in the Game-view.

Image 2: Decal Layers enabled. Makes the Game-view empty (except the sky)

Image 3: Camera selected when Decal Layers are enabled. The camera thumbnail in Scene-view shows that the camera should see the cube, but it's just not rendering it in the Game-view.

There is nothing special about the cube or the camera. Culling mask and Rendering Layer Mask are set to "Everything".

Even weirder, I have another scene where initially the Game-view renders stuff even when the Decal Layers are enabled, but if I select the camera, the Game-view immediately stops rendering, and the only way to get it rendering again is to either disable Decal Layers or reload the scene and not select the camera ever again.

Is this a Unity bug or am I missing something?

Look at the release notes of unity 2022.4 and you will see mention of a decal related bug

    • Universal RP: Decal is not drawn when using Deferred Rendering, a Rendering Layer, and Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (UUM-39831)

      Maybe its a different issue

I have the exact same issue, not using deferred rendering, just normal URP forward renderer. Transparent objects still render, but anything opaque vanishes.

Well, unfortunately, that worked perfectly ... so next question is how do I have both on at the same time?
