Ok they raised 10k but it looks like they don't have programmers. Now there is no way they are going to get an experienced programmer to work on a game of that scope for that price.

Their number don't seem to match up either.

Between your quote and these two, well, let's see.

    10,000
    -1,000 Mixamo
    -5,000 other assets
-1,500 Unity License (at least one for the developer, probably more needed)
-5,000 They said half for the programmer(s)
    ----------
    -2,500 Hmmmmm

So, forget the math for a moment, I'd be surprised if they could find an experienced developer for 5K to make a multiplayer RTS such as they are describing. Maybe if they are willing to work for $10 an hour or perhaps with profit sharing.

It's an interesting concept, but not getting the warm fuzzies about it.

A Mixamo subscription costs $1500 anyway, not $1000...

Some people clearly weren't paying any attention to what they were backing.

Why did they take the Unity logo, put it into Photoshop and add a bunch of layer effects to it? It violates almost every guideline about using the Unity logo. Also, I'm hoping it wasn't the same guy who does the "design" that did the logo.

Also, why do they need to purchase a Unity license? They already have Pro, but I'm willing to bet they're either A: Cracking it B: Illegally using the trial version for commercial use

Yeah honestly these guys seem pretty clueless. They're asking for far too small an amount of money given the scope of project they're proposing to make, and they don't appear to know how to conduct themselves professionally.

And yet they successfully got funding...which is better than a lot of much more competent people can say about their kick starter. Oh the irony.

Not so hard to get funding when you're asking for peanuts.

5k for a programmer...I am guessing they are looking at a college kid to do their work for them. I laughed when I saw the police officer grab an assault rifle. I didn't know cops could carry those.

The comments from the guys mom are a hoot. Would be surprised if this game ever comes to light.

Hah, I'd argue that it's incredibly hard to get funding... it's just easy to get liability. They now have a commitment to make this huge game, but they do not have funding of an appropriate level to achieve it. So if you're to look at both sides of the equation all they've got themselves is a huge negative...
