How do I unsubscribe from the Unity newsletter? There is no unsubscribe link in the email, and I can't see any info at all pertaining to the newsletter in my profile area. All it lets me do is change my account details, no mention anywhere of the newsletter.

I must be missing something obvious somewhere, surely can't be this hard to unsubscribe..?

There's an unsubscribe link right at the bottom of the email.

That's strange, because it doesn't exist in the emails I receive. Normally I'd look for exactly that. This is what mine looks like:

As you can see, no unsubscribe link. This is the second email I've received like this... is there another way of unsubscribing?

ed: Also there are no "email preferences" in my online account. Just change of name, address or password, nothing more. Very odd.

Is this definitely the newsletter you're referring to, then? What's the content of the email? And how often have you been getting them?

I first downloaded Unity 11 days ago, and I've had 2 of these emails since then.

This is the first one from 10 days ago: http://i.imgur.com/x4n7VEW.jpg

This is the one I received today: http://i.imgur.com/5mH7rOH.jpg

So they're like "how to get started" emails. All I did was create the online account necessary to download Unity. The odd thing is that, in my account details, there is no mention of email settings. This is all there is... Overview (http://i.imgur.com/wyKTVVQ.gif) and Edit Account (http://i.imgur.com/4A7KxXA.gif). Nothing about emails.. no unsubscribe link.. so it's a bit baffling. :)

Those emails are likely different than the Newsletter emails. I'm assuming it's because your email address was registered for a new Unity license, and it's UT policy to send out helpful "Getting Started" emails to point people in the right direction.

I wouldn't consider it a subscription so much as it is a notification from a service. Like if I signed up for a PayPal account and they send me an email describing how to send payments to someone in my first few weeks of use. Just making sure you know where to find the resources that will help you utilize your product to its fullest potential.

If you continue to receive the emails over a period, I would contact support about it, but otherwise I'd expect this as part of the normal on-boarding process.

Thanks, good to know it's not exactly a case of potentially unending newsletters! If it's a "mini-series", with a finite limit, they should really state that, or still provide an opt-out. I'll wait and see how many more there are.
