Great script although how do you avoid this when increasing zoom?

I just switched to Manjaro Linux as my main OS and wanted to setup my coding environment for Unity aswell. That's a huge bummer now I have to admit.

I am a new user of unity on linux. It's surprising that this bug has existed for so long and has not been fixed. It's disappointing.

Any word on Mac support? Working with particle effects is especially annoying with the tiny font.

(UPD. Rendering issue is gone in 2023.1.0 BETA while it is present in 2022.2.8f1, so that is perfect, I will just go and install custom scripts for UI Scaling and I am good to go. I am really happy that in 2023 rendering issue is not present, at least in beta version.)

Now I kind of understand why everyone on Linux either prefers Godot. I am on Kubuntu 20.10, 4k monitor and I have need binoculars to see any text. My scaling for other applications works just fine. I am not even mentioning rendering issues of windows, they don't re-render until I move my mouse over them.

Now if Unity says - just use Windows - come on guys, I have used Unity for 7 years, always loved it but I won't reinstall and buy 200$ system just to use Unity. I have all my tools for other work on Linux, why do I have to have a separate os taking my SSD space just to use your tool.

And developers aren't customers, a lot of devs use Linux it's not comparable, so don't bring up user count on a system. Of course if you don't support a system - your user count is going to be low because it's unusable to some extent.

Anyway, I understand that it's a bit hard to manage Linux distros, there are a lot of them, each with their own issues, so I don't blame you that much. I will just have to tinker with launch options and see how it goes.

But hiring 1-2 people to report and fix most of trivial issues for like 4-5 major distros is not a big deal for a company that has many developers on Linux platforms, am not right?

Seriously...I've been doing a lot of steam deck dev recently and Unity's lack of support for both VS Code and its own editor are painful.

Bump. Scaling issue is still there in Unity 2023.1.5f1 on Linux. I have a 14" 1080p screen. Even though my display scaling is set to 125% and all my other apps look good, Unity's UI is still quite small and hard to read out of the box.

    This reply worked for me.

For everyone who is using arch-based distros and on KDE Plasma, this was the line of terminal magic that did it for me:
    env GDK_SCALE=2 unityhub

Sorry for late reply, I have just updated the script to fix this issue. Every GUIStyle now is set to be vertically aligned in the middle instead of the top. Additionaly, you can uncomment line 37 to enable text overflow, although it looks buggy and I would not recommend this.

The link to the script is the same (https://gist.github.com/Diman119/223fbaf376d88a8adc234d095c040ce4)

How is this not a thing? How terrible can a company be?
Even programs in 90s has basic functionality as font size option.

Almost as bad as Microsoft on supporting a basic accessibility feature.
