Question Editor super slow from external drive

    Hey,
    I'm running Unity from a USB 3.1 device and it is sometimes super slow. Even basic things like renaming objects in an empty scene take 30 seconds or more.
    Using several versions of Unity from 2018.4 to 2020.3 and all have that issue with varying times on different devices. But even on a high-end Windows PC it is pretty slow.

    I understand that running stuff from portable devices comes at a cost but it seems ridiculously slow at times. Do you have any tips or advice to speed things up?
