Editor Play not working fine ( Oculus Quest)

    Hello together,
    i have maybe a simple issue but i have no solution:)

    i have my vr game in unity and if i want to test it i have always press the build and run button....

    if i press the play button i cannot move or testing the comtroller live :(

    I have a Oculus Quest and with Steam VR is not working, i dont want to build everytime if i made some changes...

    can somebody help me maybe

    What you need to do is use Oculus Link, which treats the Quest like a PC VR headset. This requires Windows. So install the Oculus software on your Windows PC from their website, hook up a USB 2.0 or better cable between the PC and the Quest, enable Oculus Link in the Quest settings.

    Once your Quest is in the PC Oculus Home interface, now in your Unity project, go to the XR plugin settings - there is a tab there for Android, should already have Oculus checked as your VR interface. Click the Windows/Standalone tab and check Oculus there. Now when you press Play in the Unity Editor, you will see your app in the Quest. It even supports hand tracking!

    Note that if you have any Android-specific plugins, they will not work, because your app is being run in Windows, and just using the Quest as a VR display and input device.

    First of all, thanks for your answer, incredible :)
    I've come a little further through it, but I still have the problem that its not showing in the Oculus quest or its not tracking to my Windows :(

    This is the tab you need to change - that's the settings for PC/Standalone. You need Oculus to be checked in that menu, and even though your platform is set as Android, the Unity Editor should connect to the Quest as if it were a PC VR headset in Play Mode.

    Hello thx for feedback yes i saw it but still not working...
    Also i know now that my Grafikcard is to low and also the USB cable is wrong :)

    This video helped me:


    Also, now Oculus Link supports USB 2.0 cables. So you can use the charging cable that ships with the headset. Incredible!

    And do not forget about enabling development mode on your oculus quest (I think that also might produce problems)

    I had to install the Windows Build Support IL2CCP in the Unity Installation and use Windows, Mac, Linux as Platform.
