    Hi all,

The old issue of collab being unusable in editor is back. I have temporarily disabled collab as I assume you're tinkering.

beta 2018.3 + latest collab package manager

    Hi hippocoder,

We did have a service degradation in the last hour due to a network issue in the AWS EU region. It looks to be resolved according to our metrics, however the incident still has an "open" status according to AWS. We're monitoring it.

Thanks for the heads up and please let us know if it's still misbehaving.

Will do, thanks. But, why are our editors still at the mercy of something random happening on the internet? Can it not check when we actually go to commit instead since I have no reason to care normally while working.

I'd absolutely agree Unity editors shouldn't be at the mercy of internet foibles if it's affecting non-service interactions. I think I may have misinterpreted which old issue popped up for you. Was it a "checking for changes" issue you were seeing?

Also, this is the latest package manager version of collab and not the beta package we just released, correct? https://forum.unity.com/threads/whats-new-with-collaborate-in-the-2018-3-beta.563509/

It was the editor stalling (stopping completely and being unable to respond to mouse input in scene view, basically hard pauses) that immediately resolved in play mode or simply disabling the collab service. I had the problem before so it was easy to turn off collab to work normally.

Version is 1.2.11 from package manager, but did not indicate it needed to upgrade the ignore file, I was unaware of the above thread.

I had installed the package when moving to 2018.3 beta because the drop down for collab wasn't showing any changes so I figured I'd try it out.

The ignore file doesn't need to be updated for 1.2.x packages, only for 1.3.x.

The only functional difference between 1.2.9 and 1.2.11 is a small performance improvement when entering play mode.

The editor stalling is potentially a known issue with a call related to Softlocks that gets sent out incessantly once it fails (this would also make sense to coincide with the service issue), but it's tough to know whether that was what you saw without more information.
