Started appearing suddenly on 2017.02.03f, so I just installed 2017.03.02f, but the problem still appears.

Unity editor has lag spikes all the time, when I open Profiler I can see it has around 270ms of "Unaccounted time between: EditorCompilationInterface.IsCompiling() and JSProxyMgr.DoTasks()".

Problem disappears when I disconnect my internet connection.

I don't like the idea of disconnecting my internet whenever I open Unity, so is there any other solution?
And what may be the cause of the problem? (excluding my internet connection :p)

I put screenshot of the Profiler from new Project in the attachments.

God Dammit! This is the only place across unity I have found this. It only happened to me when I connected to ethernet.

The same problem here, both with versions 17.2 and 17.3. When I disable connection frames are back to normal.

Edit: On 2017.1.2f1 works just fine

I had the same problem and I'm using usb-modem to connecting to the internet. I had noticed that when I'm connecting via Wi-Fi Unity doesn't lag. The problem with my usb-modem was solved by creating network bridge between connection created by modem and LAN connection.

I just installed 2017.3.03f and the problem is still occurring but the issue tracker is saying it's resolved when it's not. How do I go about reopening the problem?

seeing this happen in 2017.4, cant work in any way. Require a workaround. Updating to 2018.1 is not an option.

I have the same problem, but I got a quick fix for it. it's not the best solution, but hell, I take it over the laggy(don't know if this is a word) unity.

    Solution:
So, just go to the right upper corner of the screen, click on Account and click Sign Out , it should work smoothly after that.

I've been struggling with it for a weeks now, until dumb old me realized it was the internet connection that was at fault.

Managed to resolve this by doing complete delete and fresh reinstall of 2017.4.8f1

    Delete the following:
    1. /Applications/Unity
    2. ~/Library/Application Support/Unity
    3. ~/Library/Caches/com.unity3d.*
    4. ~/Library/Logs/Unity
    5. ~/Library/Preferences/Unity
    6. ~/Library/Preferences/com.unity3d.*
    7. ~/Library/Unity
    8. ~/Library/Preferences/com.OverTheEdge.BugReporter.plist
    9. ~/Library/Preferences/dk.Otee.*
    10. /Library/Application Support/Unity (License file is here...prolly best to leave it alone, or return your license first before deleting)
    11. /Library/Application Support/PACE Anti-Piracy

This has been plaguing me/my project for a while. The project was using .NET 3.5. Switching to .NET4 has solved the issue (same performance that I was only otherwise gettiny by disabling network adapter)

    Edit: Unity 2018.3.12f1
