Editor keeps crashing when attempting to open project

    I click to open Unity using the icon and it crashes or I got into the project folder and try and open it by clicking on the scene and it still crashes. These are projects made in Unity 4 so I downloaded Unity 4 did I perhaps download the wrong version of Unity? How to I check which version a project was made in?

    Hello TunaBandit,

    Open up ProjectSettings\ProjectSettings.asset in a text editor in order to find out the version in which the project was made. That being said, would it be possible for you to upgrade to Unity 5?
