When I started Unity3d today the near clipping plane of the editor camera seems to have moved forward. I can however not find a setting for it in the editor.

In the picture below the camera is way above the plane which is being cut as well as the cubes

I think when you zoom in/out in unity it changes the camera FOV more than it's position. To refocus the camera on the objects you're working with, you can middle-click an object in the scene or double-click it in the hierarchy.

Thanks! I am working on a scene that has a large Terrain in it, and I was baffled as to why my clipping behavior in the editor was so wonky. I habitually use the MMB to drag the scene around in scene view, and now I know the problem is that most of the time I was hitting the terrain. So the terrain became the camera focus, then I couldn't zoom in properly on smaller objects.

OMG thanks so much! I've been seeing this clipping behavior since I started working on my game like at least a year ago (it's a slow process for me rofl). I thought it was maybe an editor setting or something but never would have guessed it's due to object focus.

I zoomed/moved out until one of the objects became visible again after clipping removed it, hit middle mouse on it, and the clipping seemed to disappear and I was able to zoom way in on it, which I couldn't do before as I couldn't even get close to objects and they'd clip out.

    Thanks again you rock!
