Have you ever set an animation to legacy then couldn't edit it anymore?
Well I have recently figured out how to edit it again.

It is a large set of steps but it works.

    1. Make the animation no longer Legacy.

    2. Go to the animator view.

    3. Click on the animation you want to edit. (it should be a box)

    4. In the Inspector view there should be a setting that says motion, click on it and set it to the animation you want to edit.

    5. Double click the setting that has the animation's name under it and it should open up under the animation view.

You should be able to use this to edit the animation but when you want it to work again set it to legacy.
