Question Edge loop Glitch(?)

I'm working on a really simple area in a game(at least it seems simple, maybe it isn';t and that's the issue). for some reason when I make an edge loop around the whole area and try to move the edge loop down on the object. it moves the whole object. is there an issue where having to large of an object screws this up? what's happening here?

 

Never mind, needed to update the editor pretty badly.
