The 2 week summer sale for EasyRoads3D has started, $39 for v2 and $75 for the Pro version. Click here, use promo code: summer2011

Also uploaded a package with the special price to the Assetstore, pending review....

Furthermore, together with a new version 2.2.0 release, there is a Free version of EasyRoads3D available in the download section at http://www.unityterraintools.com

Free downloads as a ".zip_" file for whatever reason.

The download is a zip file with unitypackage and documentation, what do you mean?

Clicking the "Free Download" (aka Trial Version) link results in a file named "EasyRoads3Dv2.2.0_FREE.zip_" being downloaded - note the trailing underscore. Something in your EasyRoads3DDemo.php code is causing this.

Tested it after uploading and again after your post, works fine here and it is the same code I have always used for the full version for the last 2 years. Not sure why this happens for you. Can you unzip it after removing the underscore?

Obviously it is not the full version but pretty much the complete road building and terrain deformation toolset is included with unlimited markers and unlimited road objects per scene... No expire date either...

Could you summarize the differences between free and full?

Yes, and it works as expected. The only problem is that the filename is being delivered wrong via the php. It downloads correctly in IE, but not in FF, so I suspect it's a problem with the headers that your php page is putting together.

The free version is roads only. Apart from the side elements such as walls, fences etc. and the river object, the full version also supports going back to "Edit Mode" to further tweak road markers or add markers. And it supports splitting up the road in LOD segments and supports up to 10 width segments with controls to tweak the bumpiness of the road.

The free version does support all the terrain deformation controls including bridge segments, road tilting and embedding the road shape in the terrain splatmap.

@nopcode, you're right had a " floating in the content-disposition line that caused Firefox adding the underscore. Thanks for pointing the underscore problem out!

    raoul,

Can your package use an already made "river bed" in an existing terrain object? The terrain for our project already has a river bed "dug out" and textured...seems all these packages tend to do the bed for you...is it possible to just "fill" the bed with your river tools? I hope this makes sense.
    ;)

    Awsome work!
Are you able to make runways for planes?
    That should be awsome.

@g2mediagroup, that is possible in various ways but depends on the shape of your current river bed.

    1. Use the river tool to recreate the river bed shape using the "indent" settings to match irregular widths of the river. Render the river object. This will deform the terrain and create the river water surface. Duplicate the created river surface mesh and drag it to the root in the hierarchy. Now switch back to "edit" mode. This will put the terrain back into its original state. Hide the river object and check whether duplicated river surface mesh nicely covers the wanted area. If not, tweak th river object marker positions, indent values until things match well.

    2. Simply use the procedural objects tool that comes with EasyRoads3D. Create a new "side object" with a flat surface covering the width of the river. Create a New EasyRoads3D object, choose the "Procedural mesh Object" type. Enable the water surface side object for this new EasyRoads3D object and place markers. The river surface will be build instantly. This solution is the easiest and will work well for rivers with regular or almost regular widths.

@FreeRunningProject, the width of the road is customizable, so yes, it can be used to create runways for planes...
