Dynamic Resolution Scaling question

    Hi all!

    Question: when I turn on dynamic resolution scaling my frame rate drops about 50% on the same screen resolution using scaling 1. Changing resolution and scaling affect fps roughly linearly from that point on, but there's always this 50% fps drop penalty just to turn on dynamic scaling. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong, but did anybody ever notice this effect as well? And if so, is there a solution?

    This is on Unity 2021.3 (LTS), MacBook Pro with 5300M, built-in render pipeline using Metal, both in-editor and stand-alone.

    What fullscreen resolution are you using? I wonder if for some reason the regular scaling defaults to 50% on a Retina screen so if you set it to 1 all of a sudden it would render at full Retina resolution. Just a hunch. The behaviour definitely seems odd.
