Is there any update on Unity support for DX12 in Windows 10 & Metal on OSX?

Doubtful since DirectX 12 won't officially ship in release form until Windows 10 does, then software will need to catch up a bit.

It's going really well is all I'm allowed to say, and people will probably be able to use it when it matters so don't worry. I'm not at liberty to give any data beyond this.

The release date for Windows 10 is 29th July (6 weeks away).

A blog post from Tomas in January stated, "Currently our plan is to release DirectX 12 support early in the Unity 5 cycle (well in time for the release of Windows 10)".

I haven't seen any further info from Unity on DX12 support since then, so it would be good to get an official update on how things are going.

And the plans for Metal support on OSX, of course!

AFAIK it will be pro customers who get access first since a new beta will have it, and personal customers will need to wait for a final release, so if you have the pro version you will have access sooner, if it's terribly important.

I was assuming it would be tied to the 5.2 release since (according to a Microsoft presentation I saw) that release will include some new Windows Universal goodness.

I know what is going on but it's really not a good idea for a moderator to start announcing things or presuming they know anything. Unity staff will pop by and make things clear when they can :)

All I can say it looks like it will be all sorted out just fine.

If you can hold on for a couple more weeks, more information to come with the beta release.
I'll at least dampen your expectations: that while work for DX12 has been done and in 5.2, we are not ready at this point to consider it a shipping feature of 5.2.
