I seem to be getting into a state where compiling the graph after making changes throws a lighter gray border around the workspace. Compile again, and the shaded area gets doubled.

If I create a clean graph and edit directly, this doesn't happen.

If I duplicate the vfx graph asset (with the intent to create a variant), it happens. And if I copy a block from one graph to the new graph, it happens.

Is cutting and pasting across graphs supported? Is duplicating assets supported?

It feels like references get all mucked up when you try that.

Using 2019.3.7f1 and Visual Effect Graph 7.3.1

    HI,

Indeed it is. I ve never been the behavior depicted in your image before but copy paste between graphs, and duplicating asset should have worked.

    Hi @Livealot ,
I can't reproduce this issue; are you on HDRP or URP, and Win or Mac?
If you reset the layout, does it still happen? Thanks!

    I'm using Win and URP.

Not sure what you mean by "reset the layout". I tried "Refresh UI" and that didn't help.

    Some other potential hints:
    • when it's loading or compiling, there's an extra popup that says something about Importing Iteration 2. So I see 2 popups.
    • I'm on 2 monitors, so the graph is on one in its own window and main editor on another. Good news is that if I resize the window, the grayness disappears
    • My easiest repro involves trying to cut and paste a grouped set of nodes that has parameters from the blackboard that don't (yet) exist in the new graph
Another odd thing that is different from Shader Graph, I can only have one VFX graph open at a time. So the cut and paste across graphs scenario is really awkward.
