Well, it turns out that I have a PowerMac G5 that I am going to part with. However, it has been a good friend and I'd like for it to have a good home...doing something fun.

So I am going to sell the G5 to the highest bidder who is a Unity licensee. No reserve, nothing. (here's to hoping that more than one person reads this post ;) )

    Here are the specs:
    • - Dual Proc 2.0 G5 MINT condition
      - 4 GB RAM
      - 160 GB HD (Clean swap out of a brand new G5 so Tiger w/ iLife)
      - ATI Radeon X800 XT w 512MB RAM (Specs Here)
      - Superdrive
      - Brand new Keyboard Mighty Mouse
      - Will ship in the box that came with it's replacement.
      - All manuals Disks.
      - Will include a D-Link USB Bluetooth Adapter (DBT-120)
      - Any connection cables that you want that I have laying around.
    Rules:
    1) You must have a Unity license (I'll make an exception for the OTEE guys).
    2) You must include in your post an oath to protect, cherish and make great games with it. 8)
    3) It will be easiest if you post your bid directly in this thread so that it is as up-to-date as possible. However, if you would rather remain anonymous to the crowd you can PM me and I will post an updated bid status as soon as I get the opportunity.
    4) I will honor any and all request for pictures/screenshots/whatever (of the computer you sickos) as soon as I get the opportunity.
    5) Bidding will close at 9pm MST on Dec, 24th 2005 so the winner will get a nice email Christmas morning with a tracking number.
    6) You pay for shipping at whatever speed of delivery you want.
    7) Bidding is in US Dollars.
    8) System is currently located in Denver, CO in the US.

    Good Luck. And Happy Holidays.

    Best Regards,

    Doc

    Two questions.

    1. How do you expect the winner to pay you (Paypal perhaps)?

    2. How soon after the 24th do you expect payment?

    1. Whatever works for you. I can do paypal, personal check, certified check, etc... I don't have a company merchant account so I can't do that. If there is something you would prefer let me know.

    2. I'm flexible and a trusting soul so I trust that the payment will occur as soon as the buyer can do so. I know that this season can be a drain so no biggie. If you need more than usual, let me know via PM. I kinda have the feeling that the Unity community is an honest one.

Let's get this show on the road, eh? :D

Or at least out the door...

I bid $500 and I promise to protect, cherish and make great games with it and perhaps even use it to help make a feature length Hollywood movie.

System is currently located in beautiful Denver, Colorado in the US. And yes bidding is in US Dollars.

My wonderful new Quad is sitting in it's place. As part of the investment in my new business venture I figured that I wanted to have a system that will hold me for a few years and I know that when the conversion is made to the Intel platform that it may be awhile before all the bugs are worked out and the all necessary software has been converted.

If I could rationally justify keeping the Dual I would but I just can't at this time I already have a server in the basement for 'those' types of things and a RAID system for my files in a seperate container. And I know that someone else can get more benefit from it then I can by using it as their primary system.

    Yes, it was me.
If you'd like to boost the bids, though, Dod, that's one way to try. :D
It's been a bad habit of mine, lately, to pop into a forum from an RSS feed and then just post without thinking. :p

Wow, that was a commendable deed Doc.

Little did Outcast know there is a seal on the computer entitling doc to ten percent of whatever profits Outcast makes with the use of the computer.

It's a trick Outcast, the safest thing would probably be to have that box rerouted to me. My address is:

It has arrived!! Thanks a ton Doc, you will be receiving a free copy of our first game when we finish it up (we just started now that we have a graphics and a coding rig). Here is a pic of the two "sisters" while I was working on setting up the new one (right). Now it is off with José Luis Chávez, acting as the coding rig (maybe he can post some pix). And I'm back to my triple monitor set up. Jeff
