    13 or so hours into the iDevGames 24 Hour MiniContest, my Unity based entry is done. (I had to eat dinner and relax a bit!)

    The theme of the contest was one button control. That means you do everything, even navigate the menus, with just the space bar.

    How did you create the "Star Field" in the startup screen?

    I would expect that it is a particle effect with it being longer in length than depth. Then you give it a slow vertical velocity...

    That is just a guess at how I would approach doing that type of effect.

    It's an ellipsoidal particle emitter with the ellipsoid part set to be 10 the x axis and 1 in the others. Then in the particle animator there is an upwards force in the Y direction.

    "Illuminations" has the same disadvantidge to it..
