Good day my unity friends, today i am here to release my very first project that i was to publish for some time now, however due to laziness i put it off until i was in the mood today. The name of my project is Downward Boy and it is a rather simple 2D platformer game where one controls a character in order to jump from platform to platform avoiding enemies and obstacles but most importantly scoring points. I started working on this project as way back as 2017 and it was slated for mobile, however i was having a bit of issues with testing the project and it giving me some strange bugs, not to mention certain features that were to be implemented just flat out not working at all. I was inspired to create this project based on a game i used to play on a cellphone featuring a ball that one controls in order to get to other platforms to increase ones score, my version is just a bit more of an advanced version of that game.

Since i first started out i have been very insistent on creating everything myself from the artwork to the music to the code. The project was created on a dell e6400 that is severely under-powered in this modern age however it was all i had after my previous laptop had died and i needed to finish the project. The artwork was created using the free art program Medibang which is a pretty decent software for beginners, UI created in Inkscape, music was created in reaper with some free VSTI. Due to my laptop being severely under-powered the music came out pretty crappy to be honest as it could only allow me to have 4 instruments per project, the laptop kept glitching out, and also my Audio Interface isn't supported under Windows 10. I coded this project by using a visual programming tool by the name of Playmaker, that is a pretty awesome tool. While i have learnt how to code at college, i wasn't feeling to up to it to be typing in text so i went with Playmaker just for the ease of use, and while it was quite fun to use it i think I'll return to plain old C# typing because i miss it and i can wrangle a bit more out of it. But i had i good time using Playmaker because to me it somehow got me to understand how my code works and how to code certain features that i didn't understand at the time.

Well thanks for reading my post and i hope you enjoy my little project, please feel free to like it, criticize it, offer advice and anything else that you would like to tell me. There are two versions, one for Windows and one for Linux. Both are compressed as somehow they are quite large for a 2D project (must not have compressed properly). Links are provided below :

Wait, this is the entire project you have put in those links (at least, the Linux link)! You need to build the game before publishing it. :)

Hmm pretty sure i did build it for both platforms. The uncompressed version is a whopping 1.4gb for such a simple project. I however didnt test on linux since i didnt have a spare flash drive to run a live distro on, however i will do my best to test it as soon as possible.
In order to support various asset creators i would be pretty down to do that. I would first have to fully understand the various licenses and how to properly utilize them.

Here are the content of the two links you put in your first post. You uploaded the entire project, not the builds:

In the meantime you should delete what you have uploaded, right now anyone can just steal your work.

My apologies for not updating the links here early enough. Due to Covid-19, life, and other little issues, i had quite the delay that prevented from updating the links with the correct ones. As pointed out by some helpful people here it seems i had indeed provided the incorrect links which would have allowed anyone to download the full project with all its assets. It seems that i may have uploaded the incorrect versions to my drive account due to creating quite a few copies as backups in order to due some random changes and testing purposes. So with that said one is now able to download the appropriate versions and play, please do tell me whether you love it, hate it, what you like, what you didn't like, what can be improved etc. Your critiques will help me to improve myself in order to create better projects in the upcoming future, thank you.

You need to work on randomization.
It It soon gets boring after few plays, seeing same patter over and over.
Also need scale things down. Too big character in my opinion.

Oh and btw., please don't use RAR.
Zip is more convenient and free for others.

Thank you very much for your critique. I will admit that its just a game that one will get bored with after 20 minutes as all the levels are all somewhat the same in design. The game that i was inspired by to make this project was a rather very basic game. Though i admit i could have indeed added some cool features in the project truth be told after multiple setbacks with laptops dying, weird bugs popping up and stalling the project, major procrastination, and life getting in the way i was frankly bored and just wanted to release the project.

Hopefully as i take the time during this covid pandemic to sharpen my skills, i hope to remake this game to be more exciting and also hope i can do the same for other upcoming projects.
