I want to buy an SSD for my PC since my unity projects are too big and unity takes much time to open them.
But my question is: if I install unity on my SSD, but I have my projects saved in the hard drive, will it serve to quickly open my projects with unity?? or do I need to have everything on the SSD including projects to make it faster?

Once you start adding stuff to your projects it takes up to 10 minutes or more to open a project regardless of SSD or not. That because unity is doing some mysterious stuff that is not actually related to accessing data on disk while minutes pass (you can check this by looking at disk access in the task manager)

to answer you question ssd is better than normal hdd anyway. but if you don't want to invest in this now you should download unity install it and see how it behaves, then eventually you could get an ssd.
