    There is guide somwhere around forum, and maybe even in this thread, what packages are compatible.

    In any case, if you use version control, there is nothing to be afraid of, as you simply can revert back, if something goes sideway after update.

    A bit disappointed but I guess I'll still have lots a stuff to get busy with the entities, physics and netcode packages...

    Build Configuration
    support Windows x86 as a build target?

    Anyone else getting the error that the update cant be installed because the package com.unity.platforms@0.50.0-preview.4 was not found/could not be installed? the latest version I could find for that package is 0.10.0-preview.10

    Just updated some packages via the manager and it looks like the 0.50 versions of Entities, Jobs, and Hybrid Renderer were released too

    I didn't see this in the changelog, but chunk archetype changes in place now update the chunk's order version. This makes chunk components and change filtering much more reliable. This was one of the more crippling bugs I encountered as an advanced user, so I am really glad to see it fixed!

    Will there be any updates soon? I mean something beyond the original post. Like i.e. more specific date for compatibility of 0.50 with Unity 2021 LTS or for any 1.0 related stuff.

    What I find really interesting is that 0.50 introduces source generators as the mechanism for some(?) of the codegen even with it being on 2020.3, apparently by com.unity.roslyn. I’m not expecting user-controllable source generation like in 2021.2, but it’s good this is finally actually happening, reducing messing with IL where possible is better in my book.

    Good, now I just need to wait at least 1 more year for support for 2021/22

    Btw, I'm getting (in 2020) a lot of package compilation errors similar to:

    Code (CSharp):
    1. Library\PackageCache\com.unity.entities@0.50.0-preview.24\Unity.Entities.Editor\Unity.InternalAPIEditorBridge.002\ProfilerModules\MemoryProfilerModuleBridge.cs(4,23): error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Editor' does not exist in the namespace 'Unity.Profiling' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
    On a new, empty project. Just create a blank project and add com.unity.entities via package manager. Any ideas?

    :confused: are we expected to use mecanim as our animation until 1.0?

    edit or a scarier thought: mecanim forever?
