In an article celebrating the release of LWRP in May, the article mentioned that Screen-Space Reflections wasn't handled yet.

but I can't find any articles or anything about it now.

6 month later, is it possible to have SSR? If not, is it planned?

Would suggest baking a probe for that purpose. It wouldn't be dynamic but you'd get some nice reflections. If you really absolutely wanted a planar reflection you can probably render the character mesh again flipped upside down on a slightly transparent floor (I know, I know, it's not 1999 any more).

I'll need it in realtime as surfaces in my game change constantly from wet to snowy to dry.

    Here is what I'm doing

My first idea was to use HDRP and downgrade it based on my needs. But the Switch don't support yet the HDRP

So I was investigating the LWRP

Did you test or is this a guess? From what I can see there's no actual hardware issue preventing it from working.

When I tested it with 2018.2, i had an error related to "missing XR"

Even with SSR you still need reflection probes as backups for the places where the SSR fail. Anywhere on the edge of the screen, or where the reflection is pointing off screen / towards the camera, or areas that are occluded from view. I'd suggest having a real time reflection probe that's roughly attached to the player or camera to handle reflections on most objects, and maybe use planar reflections for water.

Strange since the HDRP doesn't support XR ...

    My point exactly :)

And as I had something else to do than dealing with fixing that, I left it for later :D
So 5 months later, I'm back looking at it :)

Did you ever crack it in LWRP/URP?

Does anyone know anything about destiny of SSR in URP? Or about other unsupported post-processing effects (fog for example)?
