Hi guys im just a little confused on a minor issue...if I wish to publish my game to the apple mac desktop appstore not the iphone appstore...will Indy allow me to do that?

or do I have to purchase a IOS licence..?

I understand I have to be a registered developer etcetera.

You don't need an iOS license as far as I'm aware, because the game isn't running or compiled for iOS. Indie will do just fine for regular "Mac".

You don't need an iOS license for that or better it would not be of any use as iOS is to target iOS only :)

Unity Free can do that, I'm pretty sure. In the SUPPORT section it's an easy find.

You don't need an iOS license but the game needs to be built on Mac.

Unity (free) allows you to publish to PC or Mac. You are free to do any type of projects whether it is commercial or not.

But to publish to Mac App Store, you do need to be in Apple developer program.

The developer program cost $99 per year.

But he could get the ball rolling by cracking the whip to make you work harder.

So just registering with apple is required for Mac Store? What about certificates and code signing that we need to for the iOS?

    NO. Those are seperate things.

For iOS - You need Unity iOS - which is $400.
Then you need ANOTHER $99 per year to enroll in Apple's iOS developer program (to publish to iOS App Store).

Mac App Store =/= iOS App Store

And I think Mac App Store does the same thing as iOS App Store about the certificate and code signing, but I am not entirely sure about that part.

I guess my question could be phrased in a slightly clearer way:

When I submit to the iOS AppStore I need to code-sign the app through Xcode using certificates...etc.

If I want to publish to the MacStore, I'm sure some code signing needs to be done, however, I'm also pretty sure Unity will only produce an Xcode project for an iOS target not Mac targets. So where does the code signing step happen for the MacStore?

Well to code sign your app, you'll have to do it with terminal :) and make some manual modifications in your package :

    Check here or here .
