Does anyone know a good version of Unity 5.x and GVR Cardboard that works on iOS

    5.6 is broken on iOS and GVR 1.40. Anyone know a stable version please? I have a deadline for mid May that is looming

    i'm still on 5.3.7p4 and gvr 0.7.. at least it works in android and ios,
    but been hoping to upgrade into 5.6 eventually.. whats the main bugs there?

    If iOS is the blocker for you, I would suggest going back to 5.5. That version of Unity does not have the native iOS integration that you are having most of the issues with. The integration there is entirely through the Google VR Plugin and so should remove all Unity issues from your plate for the time being.

    I can't speak to the orientation issue as that is a general issue not specific to VR, but the other issues are being looked into or are in process of resolution right now. I can't promise any specific release date or release version but know that we are working on these issues.

    Are we talking weeks or months. It's a lot of work to go back to 5.5 as I need the Video Player component

    I'm hoping to release something real soon using 5.5.3p2 and GVR 1.4. (1.4 loads a backward compatibility package which seems to work.) So far the combo seems more or less ok, beta tests are happening with no major issues. I haven't tested it for Android though - 5.6+1.4 works just fine for android. We're not doing anything too involved though - no video eg or vr/non-vr switching. The whole cameras not aligned thing is absurd though. How does 5.6 make it out the door without the most basic functionality in place? That's like leaving for work without my pants on...
