Do You Need to Be Good At Art To 3D Model?

Hi! I was wondering if it is essential to have traditional art skills to model in something like Blender or Maya?

 

No - but people who are traditional artists are generally better at modeling, and texturing, and animating, and all around create better looking visual content - than those who are not traditionally trained.

Are we going to get a post tomorrow about texture mapping?

Sometimes its more important to be precise (exact dimensions everywhere etc.) and not visually pleasing then I would prefer a non artistic mind doing the models xD
