    http://arstechnica.com/security/201...ders-of-dangerous-hacking-tool-google-search/

The DHS and FBI have released a warning to website operators of "hackers" using "advanced search techniques" that they call "google dorking". These "advanced search techniques" include the use of site: and the like.

So since I use site:unity3d.com all the time when looking for something Unity related, it seems that I am now officially "hacking with google"

That is so stupid, the fault is not with google. It's with people that make sensitive info that easily to get a hold of. If I were google I would make using "google dorking" more visible. Maybe like put a big fat button on the homepage that explains everything you can do with it.

I agree with you on this, or at least placing the fault on the server administrators/users. In the article they state being able to find passwords, bank account numbers and other various sensitive data, why would you keep any of this data stored on your server, or at least not within a secured area with your robots file setup correctly?

Foolish mistakes, and an even more foolish name for this feature of Google.

The world we live in today, where being merely a capable human being makes you a threat.

Next up, FBI, NSA and CIA blacklist Home Depot Dorking, whereby customers have been able to create dangerous items by buying and constructing advanced tools such as drills, glue and screwdrivers bought at hardware stores.

Aptitude is such a nuisance, it's a jolly good job the government is in charge of schools and in recent years parts of the media so it can put a stop to all that sort of thing... :S

So, we're talking a soldering iron, a couple of melons, and a length of string?

Ah, the days when you could get password lists by searching for passwords.doc or passwords.xls. Finding streaming web cams was also hilariously easy.

It's not really Google, it's people putting stuff on the internet.
