Distortion Correction

    Hi,

    Would it be possible to disable the distortion correction for google daydream? We are currently using 5.6.0f1 so it has the native integration so we can't disable it on the gvrviewer component.
    We want to disable this since its quite a performance it and want to create our own distortion correction.

    I'm not official google or unity, but I can assure the answer will be "Daydream distortion correction is required for all Daydream applications to ensure an overall familiar and pleasant experience for the end user".

    You could publish to Google Play as cardboard app without distortion correction.

    For us, we decided not to develop for Daydream as it only has about a 0.04% consumer reach compared to GearVR and figured at those numbers even porting an app isn't worth it.

    Okay, and how would i go about disabling distortion for cardboard?

    Use Unity before 5.6, such as 5.5.1 or 5.5.2. Download GoogleVR 1.03 from github here:
    https://github.com/googlevr/gvr-unity-sdk/commits/master

    Find 1.03, click the button that looks like this < > and then download the zip.

    Add GvrViewerMain to the scene, and uncheck 'Distortion Correction Enabled'

    Downgrading is not an option for us since everything is fragile and we have a tight deadline. Hacks are also a viable option.

    Can you just set Split Stereo Display as a your vr target. I don't believe it has lens distortion.
