Question Disabling log messages from RenderPipelineManager

    Hi everyone,

    I started a new project in 2021.3.25.f1 using the 3D (URP) template and zero additional packages. From the start (empty project) I am getting log messages whenever entering and leaving play mode:
    Cleanup Blit
    UnityEngine.Rendering.RenderPipelineManager:CleanupRenderPipeline ()


    There seems to be no way to suppress these. I tried commenting out the appropriate Debug.Log(...) line in Blitter.cs, but Unity deems that file immutable and immediately undoes that change. I want to keep my log clean and not clogged with messages that do not tell me anything relevant. It is perhaps a minor issue but I know it will drive me nuts if I have to look at it constantly over the next few months.

    I had not had that issue before, even when working with URP (on older versions of 2021.3). I searched but was unable to find help on this online (and ChatGPT just spewed nonsense about settings that don't actually exist). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm seeing this as well using 2021.3.25.f1. I don't see it using 2021.3.24.f1

    Somebody accidentally left a debug log in the code. It will probably disappear with the next update ^^

    YOUR-PROJECT\Library\PackageCache\com.unity.render-pipelines.core@12.1.11\Runtime\Utilities\Blitter.cs
    Line 158 :
    Debug.Log("Cleanup Blit");

    Hash that out and save. It's in the Cleanup method.

    Disregard! It seems to revert it automatically... interesting.

    Still seeing the log in 2021.3.26 unfortunately.

    It reverts to a cached version, which in Windows should be in "<Unity install path>\Editor\Data\Resources\PackageManager\BuiltInPackages\com.unity.render-pipelines.core", if you edit that as well it should work. There are other package caches in "<your user folder, usually C:\Users\xxx>\AppData\Local\Unity\cache\packages" and "<your user folder, usually C:\Users\xxx>\AppData\Local\Unity\cache\npm", but I don't know anymore what the difference is...

    (Remember that changes to packages should be avoided or be veeeeery minor like this one, and that they won't be reflected in version control).

    Not sure if upgrading from 2021 to 2022 is a viable solution for most, but I don't see the log in the new 2022.3.0 LTS.

    still happens in 2021.3.27
    harmless but kinda annoying...

    Also getting this in 2021.3.28 with 12.1.12 version of the URP package.
    It's annoying. Please fix!

    It actually works but you have to delete the line.

    it's annoying when something doesn't work in programming but feels so good when you fix it
