Disabling Chrome throttling doesn't affect WebGL?

I've disabled Chrome background throttling per this thread, but my WebGL games are still throttled. I'm just curious why that doesn't help. Is there any manual setting to prevent background throttling that I can share with my players?

No :) Chrome will sort of do whatever it wants, at whatever times it wants.

If you need background activity for a Chrome user, see what you can do server-side. For things like matchmaking and other push notifications, ask users for a phone number or provide a Facebook login to send Messenger messages to their phones.
