Direction display

    This may not be the correct forum category, and I'm having trouble describing what I'm looking for in words, so I've attached a screenshot of similar functionality in a Google map.

    I'd like to add a floating direction aid that acts as a guide to move through scenes. It hovers over the ground just in front of the camera. Depending on the direction the character is looking, the arrow would point to where they should go, and may disappear if looking in a direction that is completely opposite of where they should go.

    Any pointers (pun intended) would be appreciated.
