When I procedurally generate an animator controller with several direct blend trees, and open the blend tree in the animator window, the Editor slow down to almost like crashed. (doesn't responed to mouse click, doesn't redraw) I have attached the controller in question, just put it into an empty project, and try to open the blend tree in the default state (it's in layer 1). Please let me know if I have made any mistakes. Thanks!

Effectively the blend tree UI doesn't scale for that much blend tree child.

We will log a bug and try to find a fix ASAP fro 5.0 patch release.
