Would anyone be interested in dinosaur pack like this, or just only 1 dinosaur?
Models would be released probably in 2 lods, which would make them compatible with mobiles too. High LOD would be 6000 polygons (10.000 triangles or more) and low LOD would be something arround 2000-4000 triangles. All dinos would be animated with 3 or more animations.
This are planned dinos for pack:

    Carnotaurus.

    Parasaurolophus.

    Ankylosaurus.

    Stegosaurus.

    Pterosaurus.

    Velociraptor.

Yes I would love this pack, I'm always looking for good animated models, that are somehow true to live or in this case true to history.

Janpec, do you use zbrush or mudbox? I love how the normal map is baked!

    Awesome work Janpec.

Keep telling myself I'm going to try some kind of eco-sim as learning project. This looks perfect for that kind of thing. :)

Thx dogzerx, i use both but i use Zbrush only to make basic shape with Zspheres, which is really awesome tool for shaping out organic objects. It can beat voxels or any modeling from ground up. For the main sculpting i use Mudbox, however i have huge problems with sculpting those dinos, becouse i need 2k textures and i am working with 2 milion polys +, which is extremely painful on my low end notebook. For baking i use Topogun or Xnormal.

Highly interested in a solid set of the most popular dinos. If not already on the list, one of species from the Pterosaur family would be excellent.

Sure Pterosaur was on the list from the start, there are many different kinds of species from that family so i am not sure which one will be modeled, but most likely the one with long head spike.
Any custom suggestions are still wellcome.

Main ones I'm looking for was the Jurassic park types including a velociraptor, brachiosaurus. What sort of behaviour animations would you have on them?Any video preview like the water creatures set you made would be great too.

Conceptcrash there will be video preview made before assets will be approved by asset store, however probably assets will be animated by someone else but me thats why there are no animations videos yet. Animations will include walk, run, bite, jump and maybe some other animations.

Another custom request filled, Ankylosaurus. Polycount of this dino is higher than of previous two becouse of bumps, but there will be one LOD version added with less polys. Any additional custom requests are wellcome.

Thanks guys for showing interest in package. I was wondering are you guys satisfied only with models (and textures) without animated and rigged models? I am working on one project already and i hardly find time to work on this pack at the momment, and i will countiniue to produce more dinosaurs little later. So i am interested for those who are in rush with pack if you are interested in purchasing just models and textures, and animate models by yourself, ofcourse you can later pick animated models from this pack once they will be done, and there are also more dinosaurs planned to be released with free updates.

Personally I need the animations because I don't know how to do them myself. I'm not really a 3D graphics guy.

Will your Dinosaurs react to the player? It would be awesome to have some that seek and eat, others that run/fly away etc. Will they have sound? I love your work and look forward to purchase everything you do, but will you make the original 3D files available too should developers wish to add/alter the animations?

Thomas, models are distributed over .fbx files which you can easily import in 3ds max or maya and make animations by yourself. You can also export model as .obj file from Unity without bones and make your own animations and skeleton. I am not sure what you mean if dinosaurs will react to player, probably you mean some sort of pre-made animation scenes or sequences, if thats the case then sorry no that wont be added. There will be only basic animations of walk, eat, run (maybe something else) added, you can use it easily in game. Hm i will look in if i can make some sounds.

Just a little point, we now think Velociraptor had feathers. For the moment we have only found evidence for them on its arms (see here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velociraptor#Feathers) but it might be nice for it to have a head crest too. Apart from that, a very good model, the texture is very natural and realistic. Alternatively you could make it bigger and call it a Utahraptor.

Are these going to be available, or they have been abandoned? as this thread is from 3 years ago
