Different save files for mobile games?

Remember these classic SNES/N64/PS games that allowed the user to have multiple saves of the same game?
e.g. SNES Zelda, there were three different saved files so multiple users could all have their own.

Most mobile users have their own devices which kinda defeats the purpose of such a system. Yet, there's quite a lot of families using a single iPad for all the kids, and a few similar scenarios where devices are shared.

Do you think it could be a good idea to implement this kind of system on mobile?

Since this could be a game dependant question, if you don't want to generalize your answer, let's say we're using a typical mobile template with separate levels/3 stars system, in which the user can go back to any level he's cleared in the past.

Yes, you should absolutely allow multiple save slots. I'd say at least 4. Sharing of devices within a family is very common, I think.
