Question Did anyone try to use unity 3D to design customization figure with 3D scanner？

My son wants to be a hero in the game. I see some designers replace movie figures' head with their head.
So, can we use 3d scanners to scan somebody face or head, then design your own game figure by Unity 3D?

 

yes that is possible.

but you can scan people with regular mobile phones also,
check out photogrammetry apps for android and ios. (And can export it as mesh for unity).

there's also plugins to create avatar head from single photo, google for: unity avatar from photo.

or can build 3d character here https://readyplayer.me/ using your face photo and that model can be imported as ready rigged, playable character in unity.

and theres also many cheaper scanners/lidar scanners/depth cameras available, compared to that link.
