I'm making a 2D/3D mixed game and i'm using depth of field on my scene. A little while ago i switched to the Lightweight Render Pipeline because i wanted to play around with shadergraph and making some cool shaders (i'm very new to shaders, so i thought i would be a good place to start). I had to make

Before i switched to the LWRP my depth of field was working just fine. When i switched to the LWRP i had to make my own sprite shader that writes to depth, but this seemed to work.

Recently i noticed that the sprites or objects that i place near the camera don't blur at all, even tho the rest of the scene blurs fine. I tested DOF without the render pipeline but the depth of field worked just fine there. I have toyed with the depth of field settings for a while so i'm pretty sure it's not because of the settings in the PP volume. I also tried to update from 2018.3.4 to 2019.1.5 and updating the PPS but it doesn't seem to help.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Edit: I've also tried making a new scene with just some random cubes and the standard lit shader from lwrp, it doesn't work there either

You're not alone, I've had the same problem and haven't managed to find a solution. I wondered if I was misunderstanding how the effect should look?

Same problem here, near blur doesn't work on 2019.1.x with default render.

I too have noticed issues finding any good values for depth of field. I cannot replicate anything resembling a "miniature world" style camera distortion.

UPDATE: I was able to fix the issue on my end by setting the HDR setting on my Camera to 'Use Graphics Settings'. Previously I had it set to 'Off'. Hope this helps!
