    Hi

    I am facing problem in setting up my car.
    I am following all the steps stated on the wiki page.
    Everything works fine except the fact that my car's steering doesn't work. I can go back and forward but can not steer the car.

    This works great with UnityCar Pro 2.0 also.

    I thought there was some issue with my model (car FBX) but then I used the stalk FBX of sample cars provided in UnityCar Pro 2.2 and getting the same result.

    I know this sounds lame but please guide me on where I may be going wrong.

    I also am not sure that this issue would be resolved here or I need to mail it to Michele Di Lena for the same.

    Hi ... for the starters I will suggest you to make steerInput work with acceleration of x axis instead of y axis.

    Basically change the following line in the MobileCarController.

    Code (csharp):
    1.  
    2.  
    3. steerInput = (Mathf.Clamp(Input.acceleration.x, -1, 1)) * 0.75f;
    4.  
    5.  
    lesser the multiplier value, lesser the sensitivity.

    Hello,

    I'm going to buy UnityCar, not sure about edition at the moment, it will be probably Pro. But I've seen here some references to version 3.0 and Enterprise edition. Would you please clarify what exact editions will be applicable to version 3.0? And how are they mapped to 2.2 editions? Will you provide free 3.0 upgrade and what exclusive features Enterprise version will include?

    yes if you buy UnityCar now you are eligible to a free upgrade when 3.0 will be available.

    UnityCar LE will be discontinued (it will become UnityCar Free), UnityCar 2.2 Pro will become UnityCar Pro 3.0.
    UnityCar Enterprise 1.0 will contain everything in UnityCar Pro 3.0 plus AI, Game Manager, Race Manager, a complete differential implementation (open, locked and LSD) and other things i'm working on.
    Btw, im open to suggestions for new features that should be included in UnityCar Enterprise.

    Do you have an estimate date of launch for 3.0?

    Will it be possible to upgrade current Pro version to Enterprise somehow? I don't know if I need AI yet but I need to start playing with UnityCar Pro as soon as possible. So if I buy 2.2 Pro now, will I be able to upgrade it to Enterprise? Of course if Enterprise is not going to be released say in a week :)

    Hi....

    I recently updated my unity car pro from 2.0 to 2.2. [Where the Wheels script is replaced by Axles]
    I am facing an issue here after the update.... When the car is not moving (Neutral Gear , Speed = 0) and I apply the handbrake .... all is good that means handbrakes work properly. But when the car is running and I apply Handbrakes the car's speed does not reduces.

    I can say that practically handbrakes do not respond.

    Please help ....!!

    Have problems with handbrakes too. I set the value of handbrake input to 1 and on click button throttle changed to 1, to make slip on race start.
    When i try it in editor, everything ok(car stay and rpm increases), but on android handbrake didn't work and car just throttle.

    p.s. I instantiate car on track, without instantiate on android handbrake work fine

    I bought UnityCar some time ago and I gotta say it's just amazing :) I just have a quick question, can I delete the image effects included in unity car without messing up anything? It seems unity wont let me import the whole image effects package because unity car already contains some of the effects.

    HI all.

    I've got two questions:
    1. how to do speed limiter? For now I'm reading current veloKmh and comparing it to maxSpeed. When is bigger, throttleInput = 0.2f. It is a way, but not so good as I thought.
    2. when I set maxSpedd to 30f, veloKmh equals it at value 50f - how it is possible?

    OK. I've figured it out.
    1. simply se rigidbody velocity to desired value using Vector3.ClampMagnitude
    2. I multiply velocity by kmph or mph speed factor

    But got another question: Is there possibility to move UnityCar on spline?

    I use only the scripts without the models so yes you should be able to do that.

    I had a similar issue on Windows Phone 8 and it was becaus the setup file was not found. I changed so that the setup files was in the resource folder instead and change the setup load process. Check that your setup file is properly loaded on Android.

    Not 100% sure what you mean but I've added an AI to UnityCar what followes a certain path.

    Just add Another controller that follows the spline and that should solve it,

    I think steering wheel support would be good. Also do the cars included have separated doors?

    I'm instanciating a car so I can't assign the skidmarks in the inspector... it possible to assign the Skidmarks object to the car dynamics automatically? It's not possible to use gameobject.find because the skidmarks variable is not a game object...

    Idea is correct. You just need to get component which is skidmarks script.

    skidmarks = GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("YourTag").GetComponent<Skidmarks>();

    Actually, getting the skidmark script won't work. I had to assign the skidmarks obj to a script manually and then find the car dynamics script in the spawned car object and set the skidmarks:)

    Any ETA on the Unity Car 3.0?

    Also how do you fix Input Button: Start Engine not setup.

    Edit: NVM Inputs, then add a number name it right add a key done. I actually fixed something, I'm so proud of myself lol.

    I do have a question though about set ups. I'm going to tell you what I do and if anyone can help me out that would be great.

    When I'm trying to save a new setup this is what I do.
    -First i go to one of the demo scenes and drive around and mess with the sliders to see a setup I like.
    -Then I hand write down all the settings down.
    -Then I go to prefabs, cars, R34, Duplicate and then re-name it say Racing Truck.
    -Then just simply transpose the numbers I hand wrote down to the Racing Truck.


    Is this fine to do?

    Hi, I have a question regarding adjusting car statistics.

    If I wanted to affect specific traits of a vehicle, like say the top speed, acceleration and handling, does a readily available component exist to easily set them?

    The alternative is to manually discover and set appropriate variables, and the additional testing that this entails is undesirable.

    yes its possible, you have to select external controller in cardynamics and add your AI controller to the car.

    what do you mean with setup? Spawn a new car at runtime? If this is the case yes, its possible and you need just a single line of code.

    steering wheels are supported till UnityCar 2.0. Separate doors regards 3d models, not vehicle physic.

    yes its fine, but you can make it quicker by duplicating the prefab, messing with sliders and save the setup directly in runtiume by hitting save setup.

    Since UnityCar is based on real life physics, there is no specific parameter for top speed or acceleration, so you have to change values like in real life (engine power, aerodynamic resistance, tire grip and so on). Anyway, UnityCar 3.0 will include a speed limiter parameter, that will enable you to set the maximum speed the car can reach.

    You should support glass in car, if a collision happens and it damages the glass or the structure the glass relays on it breaks.

    I am interested in unitycar, i want to make a truck with detachable, attachable trailer. In demos trailer detachs after an amount of force

    I want to make attachable trailer, the player should get truck alligned with trailer, and hit a key (or button) to make a joint. Is it possible with unitycar?

    well this is not included in UnityCar since this is game logic, not physic, but it can be a good idea for a feature to be included in the next version.

    Edit: Also, just wanted to make a suggestion for later updates. I would love to have a specially made "track" car like NASCAR and INDY. As well as a dragster of some kind.
