Here are some technical details about a demo showcasing massive crowds, fully physical simulation using hundreds of unmodified Unity3D physics engines, and massively multiplayer capabilities by default: http://improbable.io/2016/01/22/dyn...a-simulation-over-hundreds-of-physics-engines

The tech behind this is SpatialOS, the distributed operating system that powers the upcoming MMO Worlds Adrift, a gorgeous game also built on Unity3D. We're getting ready to give open access to SpatialOS later this year, but we've just opened an early access program that would let you get your hands on the tech and experiment with it. Can't wait to see what you build with Unity and SpatialOS :)

Disclaimer: I do work for Improbable, and in fact they found me through some multiplayer networking articles I've seen discussed in these forums before :)
