This is probably a question that should be added to the FAQ.
DeltaDNA is now owned by Unity, so which one is the preferred choice? Are there major differences between the two or is the Unity Game Analytics a re-skinned version of DeltaDNA?

    Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your question here. You make a good point, I'll make sure we add some content relating to deltaDNA to the FAQ.

To answer your question. Unity Gaming Services Analytics is the preferred solution going forwards, it is where our active development is focussed and where you will see new features being added. We are also building out a lot of interoperability between gaming services to extend the use cases and make it easier to build and run your games.

Gaming Services isn't just a re-skinned deltaDNA, although there are some shared archictectural and functional elements. Gaming Services builds on the expertise of deltaDNA for analytics and player engagement, ChilliConnect for game backend and live ops, Multiplay for multiplayer game services like Relay and Lobby and other Unity services that are commonly required in modern games, such as Ads, IAP and Cloud Content Delivery.

There are some Analytics and Player Engagement use cases from deltaDNA that aren't available in Gaming Services Analytics yet, so if you are already using deltaDNA in a game you may want to continue using it for the time being and consider migrating to Gaming Services at a later date. Having said that, there are already a lot of use cases that Gaming Services supports that weren't possible or were difficult in deltaDNA.

If you have questions about specific use cases or migration from deltaDNA to Unity Gaming Services please feel free to share them here on the forums or reach out to us through support.
