No. Falling over yourself to cater to an angry customer is often a very bad idea - it all comes down to 'how much damage will this person do' versus 'how much will it cost to make them not be angry.' Customers are often angry for completely irrational reasons and it's a waste of resources to try and help them; they also often won't do much damage because other people won't agree with them. (It is, of course, very dangerous to just ignore such people, because then you might miss a pattern, and a pattern is a problem. But the customer is not always right).

No, they're right; you are proposing something extremely stupid there.

Sure, but your intentions don't really matter.

@CaoMengde777. I don't get it. Your post just reads like a rant and it is all over the place.

I don't see a well structured argument that justifies your final statement.

"video game companies should respect business ethics!"

Different markets require different strategies to be successful. The successful game companies have good products underpinned with the right strategy for this industry.

Whether you're right or wrong about the language doesn't matter. The issue is that it's an extremely minor flaw that hasn't actually stopped the game from selling perfectly well, hasn't led anyone to misunderstand the game in the way you suggested they might, and isn't worth the developer spending time on.

You're not "wrong", but that doesn't mean you're being productive. Ever read How to Win Friends and Influence People? Being right isn't always important. It's often less important than being productive and/or positive.

@CaoMengde777. Your intentions were good. However, it is their game and it is up to them to decide if they want to take your advice or not. Just because they decided not to listen to you, this should not bother you.

It seems like you have turned to the Unity community to look for validation. If you believe in yourself, you shouldn't need this.

My advice is to let it go.

No, I think we do understand. Your focus is entirely on you being more right than the other guy. Our focus is entirely on how other people perceive things.

People's perception of one another is very rarely related to who is more correct, yet that is the only aspect of the interaction that you're even considering.

I wasn't making fun when I suggested reading that book. Edit: And if you genuinely are interested in "the art of the mind" and learning about this kind of thing then I can only make the same recommendation twice more. ;)

The forum moderators reply seemed pretty reasonable to me.

Your suggestion although maybe a little clearer is not grammatically correct either: you need alternate capitalisation and an 'and' to make it a proper sentence. But a tagline doesn't have to be a sentence nor grammatically correct. Its purpose is to attract attention.

In this case survival is likely the most important key word, hence it comes first. Furthermore the odd flow of words may indeed further serve this purpose, for me it was quite intriguing.

It's nitpicky and most people don't particularly care to hear someone nitpick. Plus, it will make you sound like a douche who has "ideas" and no one cares for the people who have "ideas."

this is wrinkling my brain, you are bothered by other people's stupidity yet you complain about something completely inconsequential. Yes it's not proper English but that doesn't hinder comprehension in this case. Whether something is a big wide item or a wide big item does not matter, both are perfectly descriptive.

In addition.. "Kicking over" an entire set of PR data would be utterly stupid for something like this, modifying it, redistributing it, ...
Therefore I'd suggest the lack is not to be found on their side for not catering to you on this point but rather on your side for putting it forth in such a persistent manner without considering the other party's position.

Experimenting with the art of the mind.. *sigh* if you say so

    your examples are entirely unrelated
    (as those are names)

but yeah i guess PR data says to misuse english... pretty dumb...

but, really , the purpose of this thread had NOTHING to do with the misuse of english in that tagline...
the point is.. you dont treat the customer bad in the first place

ive wasted too much time here, i suggest you dont either
    you all confused me...
i dont understand how you didnt understand the intent of the original thing... literally NO ONE got it

Slightly ambiguous wording of a tag line is 'treating the customer bad' ?

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt to assume that you come from a culture for which the notion of condescension doesn't exist. Because when you are critiquing something, it's important to understand that there is a fine line between being helpful and being an asshole. In forums, the difference can be between starting a thread with a statement and starting a thread with a question.

As for customer service, most people aren't going to pity you if you were an asshole and then they treated you like an asshole... unless they happen to be Phil Fish.

    'Ignore this thread'...

That's like the worst possible subject you can have if you want people to ignore something lol.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOO

It is too much fun. I have been checking the latest posts whenever I need a break from my real job to have a laugh :)

The unity forums can be the best entertainment on the net when someone goes on tilt.

But, you might be right. I am starting to feel a little sorry for CaoMengde777.

Just curious, seriously who thinks it is ok to use "no1" in a forum. This isn't texting your girlfriend. A period was made for anything other then how you use it.

Edit: I'll give you credit for having one of my favorite quotes (Henry Ford) in your signature.

It's a fairly worthless thread that only encourages people to waste time. I'll lock this nonsense now because there's something exciting going on... it's called UNITE!
