    Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before but googling it didn't result in anything, am working on a mobile game and I would love to have some extra controls on the particles with the VFX graph, am also not used at all to working with URP or HDRP, and i would love to know if this tool works with the default renderer.

    Thanks!

    Hi @Aladine ,

The VFX Graph is intended to be used with HDRP or URP and is not supported on Unity's built-in render pipeline.

That being said, it used to unofficially mostly work in the built-in pipeline up until around 2020.1 - 2020.2, so you could potentially try some things out with it. However I would not recommend using it in production and instead use the built-in particle system.

On a related note, the VFX Graph is also not fully offering URP or mobile support yet either, though both of these tasks are planned for the 2021.2 cycle. You can view the tasks on our public roadmap for URP support and mobile support (for compute-capable devices.)
