Debian Linux No Keyboard Input

    Hello I have a lenovo t420 with debian linux.
    Unity launched just fine, but I can't type anything, it receives no keyboard input whatsoever.
    Does anyone have the same problem? Should I switch to Ubuntu or perhaps Gnome not KDE?
