Daydream devices

Hello, I am about to upgrade my old phone. And i was thinking why not buy a daydream compatible device so i can also do vr development.

However, when looking at the phones, the prices are very high. What would be a budget phone for everyday use also for daydream development?

I can only vouch for the Pixel. I've had mine for about a year now, and I love it. Great phone, always has up-to-date OS which is super quick.

I've been using it to develop VR with the Daydream headset for a several months now. I gets hot pretty quick, which can impact performance - but it cools very quickly too.

 

Thanks for the input, i already bought a samsung galaxy s8 with gear vr 2017 and a daydream view and a cardboard.

This way, It is possible to develop on all 3 platforms with just one phone.
And i must say, i am pretty amazed there arent any unity stuff on oculus store but only unreal made stuff.
